PROFILE
To manufacture aircraft components from composite materials which meet design and engineering requirements.
KEY DELIVERABLES
Manufacture aircraft components from carbon and glass fibre pre-preg materials
Use processing equipment to lay-up and cure composite wing spars and test pieces
Use forming presses, drape machines, vacuum presses, automated tape lay and fibre placement machines, laser projection equipment, autoclaves and ovens to manufacture and cure composite spars
Prepare and clean mandrels and cure tooling for manufacture of composite spars
Participate fully in local continuous improvement activities
Work in line with Health & Safety site requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience of assembling and manufacturing production components using drawings and processes
Experience in a manual handling work environment
KEY SKILLS
Ability to assemble and trim composite and ancillary materials to close tolerances
Good hand skills and co-ordination xsngvjr
Understand aircraft drawings, limits and quality systems
Knowledge of composite bonding and assembly techniques using pre-preg materials
Ability to operate CNC machines and processes
Self-motivation with good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both alone and in small teams
Ability and willingness to undertake training and understanding of composite manufacturing techniques and processes
To take responsibility to “self-certify” own work
Working knowledge of IT systems including SAP and Microsoft packages
