Overview
Mental Health Assistant in SEMH School - Kidlington. All-through School for Young People with Social, Emotional and Mental Health/Complex Needs. ASAP Start. The school is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Graduate to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. The SEN children are aged 5 to 16 and require consistent, ongoing support to ensure high-quality, child-centred care. Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside therapists and psychologists based on-site at the school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them, gaining valuable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues. It is ideal for someone pursuing a career in educational or occupational psychology, therapeutic support, or SEN teaching.
Responsibilities
* Mental Health Assistant
* Social and Emotional Mental Health Support
* Support in classrooms and work alongside therapists and psychologists on-site
* Shadow sessions and learn from professionals
* Be proactive, adaptable and use your own initiative
* Demonstrate resilience and confidence when working with challenging behaviour
Qualifications
* Level 3 qualifications or higher
* A Degree is highly desirable
* Ideal for Psychology/Counselling Graduates
* Suitable experience can include working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting

* Salary: 85-100 per day
