Rate of Pay : £12.21 - £15.54 per hour Summary: The Family Support Worker provides a range of evidence-based interventions to children, young people (ages 0–19), and their families. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver timely, outcome-focused support that improves family life chances and prevents the escalation of needs into statutory social care. Operating as a "champion for families," you will manage a diverse caseload, often acting as the Lead Professional to coordinate multi-agency support via the Team Around the Family (TAF) framework. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments and observations of family situations using outcome-focused tools, ensuring individual needs and diversity are fully considered. Act as a child-centred practitioner, offering "healthy challenge" to partners and families to ensure the best outcomes for the child. Recognise, identify, and manage risks associated with child safety, escalating safeguarding concerns immediately to senior management. Participate in quality assurance activities and reflective supervision to ensure practice remains evidence-based. Ensure the effective use of resources to facilitate cost avoidance and provide best value for the local authority. Act as a positive role model, adhering to Data Protection, Safeguarding, and Child Protection procedures at all times. Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Social Care, Childcare, Health, or Working with Families. Essentials: Proven operational experience in managing complex cases and directly working with young people aged 0–19. Demonstrable experience following safeguarding procedures and maintaining professional confidentiality. Evidence of emotional intelligence and resilience when dealing with challenging family behaviours or conflict. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
