Radiology Assistant working within the ultrasound departments at University Hospital Coventry, Hospital of St Cross and City of Coventry Health Centre, providing support to patients and clinical staff.

Shift pattern over a 7day week (Sun‑Sat).
Responsibilities
* Assist patients in preparation for, and whilst undergoing, routine and specialised radiographic examinations; establish and maintain a good communication channel.
* Check patient identification and documentation in accordance with departmental protocols.
* Assist radiologists, sonographers, registrars and nurses in performing examinations and attend to patients’ welfare at all times.
* Support service delivery to coordinate workflow and support facilities within specialised areas.
* Maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control; participate in the departmental Quality Assurance programme.
* Apply principles of radiation safety, both nationally and locally regulated or protocol‑led.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours rosters, supporting full 7‑day service delivery.
* Facilitate communication between the department and all service users, patients, relatives, staff and external users, adhering to Trust policies and annual appraisal/review systems.
* Assist in the practical training of newly inducted staff.
* Ensure in‑house stock movement, especially specialist room stocks and linen handling, according to infection control standards.
* Provide support within the ultrasound department across multiple sites, including University Hospital Coventry, Rugby St Cross and the City of Coventry Health Centre.
* Assist in implementation of all manual and electronic information systems, ensuring consistently accurate data collection and recording, in support of standard data collection, performance activity, audit and capacity and demand analysis.
Qualifications
You should have excellent communication skills, work well as part of a team, and have the ability to use your initiative and work independently.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
