The role
We are currently looking to recruit two Automation Technicians to join our team in the Ridgeway Region. These roles are vital to the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of remotely controlled switchgear and associated equipment, including all supporting communication systems on the electrical distribution network up to 11kV.
You will
- Install, commission, and maintain automation schemes across the network.
- Monitor and supervise contractors throughout the Ridgeway region.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on automation equipment from multiple manufacturers.
- Maintain and install automation-related electrical equipment on the 11kV network, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of all tasks.
- Ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with SSE’s safety policies and procedures.
You have
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively.
- A knowledge of the automation currently installed and be keen to learn and develop within your role.
- SSEN operational authorisations CAT 1,2,4,5, and 7.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to undertake additional training where required, including CAT 4E, CAT 7, and automation installations.
