We have an opportunity for a Research Nurse to join our unique COPD respiratory team at Guy's Hospital. This is to support the delivery at GSTT of a multiple research studies, both commercial and non-commercial. The role will involve screening, recruiting and providing intervention for various studies.
Main duties of the job
The Research Nurse will play a key role in recruiting to a novel multi-site study for patients with COPD; providing intervention and follow-up. They will ensure that the study is undertaken in a manner that safeguards the well-being of patients/research volunteers and is conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post will include recruiting and delivering to interventional and observational studies, both commercial and non-commercial. Including working with the local team and participants direct MDT. They will also support data collection, entry and quality checking. You will be required to attend research meetings on a monthly basis. You will work closely with a dynamic multi-disciplinary research team to deliver this portfolio study.

1. Ability to work effectively under pressure.
2. Evidence of up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
4. RN1 / RN2 Registered Nurse on the NMC Register
Desirable criteria
5. A Clinical Research qualification
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
6. Extensive experience of working within an acute adult ward environment as a qualified nurse with previous acute NHS experience.
7. Experienced and competent in the management of adult patients particularly with COPD

8. Experience in Clinical Research
