Senior Finance Business Partner - Interim Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority in the North East to appoint an Interim Senior Finance Business Partner to provide senior financial support across the Council's wholly owned companies. This is a short-term interim assignment focused on strengthening financial planning, commercial assurance and governance arrangements across a defined 3-month package of work. What's on Offer Rate: £500 - £600 per day Contract length: 3-6 months initially Full-time Hybrid working Start: ASAP / subject to notice The Role The successful candidate will provide senior finance business partner support to the Council's wholly owned companies, with a focus on financial planning, commercial review and governance. Key responsibilities: Refreshing and updating the energy company's medium-term financial business plan. Reviewing financial forecasts, assumptions and supporting narrative. Challenging the financial model underpinning the business plan. Identifying key financial risks, sensitivities and mitigation actions. Clearly articulating financial implications for the company and shareholder. Undertaking a full review of SLAs between the Council's companies and the Council. Assessing SLA scope, cost allocation, charging mechanisms and value for money. Providing senior financial advice, insight and challenge to key stakeholders. About You You will ideally have: CCAB qualification or equivalent. Senior finance business partnering experience within a Local Authority, public sector or commercial environment. Strong financial planning, forecasting and financial modelling experience. Experience reviewing commercial arrangements, SLAs, cost allocation or value for money. Strong understanding of governance, assurance and financial controls. Ability to operate autonomously and manage a defined package of work. Excellent stakeholder management and report writing skills.
