JOB PURPOSE
The overall purpose of the role is to strategically lead, manage, and develop the Health, Safety, and Emergency Planning service. As a key member of the Facilities Management (FM) Division and QSHE Team, the post-holder is accountable for ensuring service delivery focused on continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Emergency Planning. The role involves leading transformational change, implementing new structures, strategies, policies, procedures, and processes, and managing statutory requirements related to Emergency Planning.
The post-holder will collaborate with EA colleagues, schools, external stakeholders, the Department of Education, the Health and Safety Executive, trade unions, multi-agency emergency planning groups, and industry experts to embed current and emerging priorities, improving health, safety, and emergency planning for EA stakeholders, staff, and children and young people. They will establish ownership and accountability, work to improve performance, and support the Head of QSHE in developing strategic direction, ensuring alignment with service requirements.
The role requires providing strong leadership to implement ongoing changes and harmonization processes, contributing to all health, safety, and emergency planning issues related to the corporate plan, operational business plan, service development, savings, and risk management, supporting the overall strategic objectives of the EA.
