Dental Receptionist – Public Dental Service (Ref 223186)
Substantive Post
Full Time Post – 37 hours per week
Band 3 - Salary Range £28,011 - £30,230 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,482 per annum
Responsibilities
Working within our Dental Health Centres, you will provide reception and clerical support for our busy dental service. The successful applicants may be required to work across our practices in Lerwick, Brae, Whalsay and Yell as operational requirements dictate; however, you will predominantly be based from Montfield Dental Clinic in Lerwick.
The post will involve working with a range of different people both face-to-face and over the phone, including Dentists, Nurses, professional agencies and, most importantly, the public. You will have responsibility for maintaining accurate and confidential patient information as well as dealing with payments and other enquiries.
Qualifications and Skills
 * Experience of working in an office environment.
 * At least Standard Grade or equivalent in Maths and English.
 * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with numerical data.
 * Good keyboard and General IT aptitude.
 * Friendly and enthusiastic with a flexible and proactive approach.
Compliance and Professional Standards
You will be expected to comply with the Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare. Support Workers within 3 months of commencing your role – details can be viewed on the NHS Nes toolkit site.
