Overview

We are seeking two Community Support Workers to join one of our community-based services in Brinnington, Stockport. Our service aims to provide extensive care, specialist positive behaviour support and promote independence and inclusion within the local community. The Together Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people that we support and expects all of our staff and volunteers to share this commitment.


Working pattern

32.5 hours per week. Hours range from 9.00am through to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work is required on a rota.


Location

Berwick Day Service, Brinnington, Stockport (a Together Trust Service).


Salary

* £21,406.67 plus enhanced pay for weekend hours of +25%
* Full time equivalent salary for 37.5 hours is £24,700.00 (Real Living Wage £12.67 per hour)


Responsibilities

* Provide the highest level of support to enable greater independence, choice and fulfilment for individuals with complex needs.
* Work with individuals who may have learning difficulties, Autism spectrum conditions (including behaviours perceived as challenging), mobility, health and social care needs.
* Work under the leadership of the Team Leader, nurturing and supporting individuals with care, love and support as if they were a family member.
* Maintain appropriate boundaries for behaviour; work both independently and as part of a team; encourage open and honest communication.
* Plan and undertake a full range of tasks in a well‑planned way that respects and values the individuals.


Qualifications and qualities

* Ability and resilience to work with behaviour that may challenge in a caring and consistent manner.
* Ability to work on shift using own initiative and as part of a team.
* Commitment to person-centred support and safeguarding the welfare of those supported.
