Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Nurse
The post holder will be an integral part of the Cardiology Service and will be responsible, in liaison with the Lead Nurse, for coordinating the cardiac rehabilitation programme and setting protocols to assess suitability for referral to rehabilitation. The post holder will offer rehabilitation and health promotion advice in conjunction with ward staff and support patients and families both during their stay in hospital and after discharge.
Responsibilities
* Ensure practice reflects the standards set in the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct.
* Ensure adherence to Professional and Clinical Policies, Guidelines and Protocols.
* Lead and develop in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme in liaison with the Cardiac Team and the Head of Service.
Skills and Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC ‘Live’ Register
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cardiology setting within last 8 years
* Hold a port-registration qualification in specialist practice (cardiology) or willing to undertake within 2 years of commencement of post.
