Description Role: Ref 11743 - Nursery Manager (Dual) Location: Langport and Taunton, Somerset. Salary: £36,800 per annum (negotiable) Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time – 40 hours a week. About the nurseries: The Hollies Spring The Hollies is a 50-place nursery based in the centre of Taunton, which was purpose built, offering three well-resourced rooms and a fantastic spacious outdoor space for children aged 3-months to 5-years, all of which have been completely renovated in September 2024. The nursery has a beautiful, large outdoor space for the children and the Spring The Hollies team prides themselves on creating child led opportunities for babies through to rising fives helping them to learn, develop confidence and have fun. The team are dedicated to ensuring all children have the best experience. The Levels Spring the Levels is a 36-place nursery based in The Levels Childrens Centre in Langport that offers affordable, high-quality childcare, alongside its sister settings. The nursery is set in a beautiful rural setting within a designated children’s centre; where communication between parents, staff, health visitors and children are paramount. Heuristic play both indoors and outdoors is encouraged as we support, scaffold and enhance each child’s interests whilst ensuring that close links with Huish Epicopi school and local schools support the transitions for both the children and their families. A creative wraparound deck and newly refurbished outdoor area makes the nursery light, open and inviting. About the role We're looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active Nursery Manager to join and lead our two teams at Spring The Hollies and Spring The Levels, you will oversee the two. You will be providing leadership, direction, and support to both Nurseries across these two locations. While the two Nurseries and teams differ in scale and workload, the existing Deputy Managers who are well established, are well-equipped to provide support in your role. The Levels and The Hollies are 40 minutes apart and you will be travelling between the two to spend 3 days a week with one and 2 days a week with another, according to the needs of the business (although these hours could change). You will need to be very flexible in your attitude to working hours. You will provide a safe, caring, fun and stimulating environment. You'll provide the highest standard of leadership and form strong and supportive relationships not only with your team, but also to our parents and children. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nurseries and work to develop, oversee, and manage high quality, child centred provision of early years' education and day care services for children aged from birth to five years. Providing a direct management of your teams of staff, together you'll promote and establish a working environment which the emotional, physical, social, psychological, physical, developmental, and educational well-being of children is paramount. Some other key responsibilities of your role will be. Actively engaging in marketing and advertising in order to develop an excellent reputation for the nursery. Supporting the development of an innovative approach to children's learning and play that is demonstrated by teams working well together within the setting. Undertaking the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Registered Manager role in relation to Ofsted registration Overseeing the recording and reporting of planning, observation and progression for all children including a full and thorough assessment of the setting against the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Let’s talk about you. In the role of Dual Nursery Manager, we’re ideally looking for someone who has: Minimum level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years. Level 2 in Mathematics, or be willing to undertake this within 2 years of employment Leadership and management experience, in a childcare setting. Experience of working in a senior role within a nursery setting or centre working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their families. Leading a staff team, including supervision, work allocation, assessment or training and professional development. Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted requirements and relevant current legislation. Understanding of child protection processes, safeguarding, and working with vulnerable children. Commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory working practice with children, families, colleagues, and the community. You must be a driver, to be able to travel between the two services regularly.
