HGV Class 1 Driver – Solihull (West Midlands)
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands, on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and the potential to secure a permanent role with a well-known household brand.
This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver .
Shifts
Monday to Friday
Start times between 03:00 – 06:00
Early finishes depending on route completion
Weekend overtime available (optional)
Rates of Pay
Monday to Friday: £17.00 per hour
Saturday: £18.00 per hour
Sunday: £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
Driving and operating Category CE (Class 1) vehicles safely and efficiently
Completing deliveries to regional distribution centres and customers
Carrying out pre- and post-vehicle checks
Ensuring loads are secured safely and comply with regulations
Completing delivery paperwork accurately
Communicating professionally with the transport team and customers
Adhering to all road transport and health & safety legislation
Assisting with loading and unloading where required
Essential Skills
To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence
A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
A valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
A good level of spoken and written English
A reliable, punctual, and professional approach
Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations
Strong communication skills
Desirable (but Not Essential)
Experience with curtain-sider, box, or trunking work
Previous experience within retail or distribution environments
Training Provided
Full paid induction and ongoing support throughout your assignment
