The Logistics Specialist will support the logistic department, to carry out the logistical movements of materials/goods coming into the supply chain (Manufacturing) and the loading out of completed products (Projects). We are a Manufacturing and Project driven Business, therefore ideally the candidate will have experienced in either one or both fields. The role also entails preparing customs documents, to present to our broker for declaration (import and export) and audit checks to ensure compliance. Responsibilities
* Assisting development of Project Logistics Plan (Shipment lookahead, risks, strategy).
* Coordinating and leading regular shipment rhythms.
* Optimizing planning to reduce shipment volume, increase consolidation and reduce freight spend.
* Coordinating with interfacing roles in Manufacturing, Sourcing, Projects & Materials.
* Supporting monthly cost feedback on Logistics spend (Inbound & Outbound).
* Customer point of contact on all Project Logistics related matters.
* Verifying or completing import & export documentation, records & registers in accordance with local customs compliance requirements.
* Compliantly moving goods, whilst adhering to all Baker Hughes policies, International Trade compliance, HMRC and Customs regulations always.
* Supporting the Logistics lead in Loadouts, arranging Kick-off meetings, aligning all parties, controlling the flow of information and enabling collaboration throughout the process to successfully loadout projects on time.
* Always ensure carrier compliance.
* Joining and participating in all Logistic meetings.
* Requesting transport quotes.
* Sourcing the most cost effective and efficient logistic solution to the transportation request.
* Completing end to end logistics.
* Responsible for admin and audits of completed shipments.
Qualifications
* Have a good understanding of Incoterms and strong knowledge of international logistics.
* Preferred understanding Duties and Tariffs.
* Experience in Supply Chain or Procurement (added advantage).
* Good problem-solving skills, sound judgment, initiative and creativity.
* Individual must be a self-starter, creative and clear thinker.
* Advanced Microsoft computer skills, excel spreadsheets etc.
* Training will be given with Logistic systems.
* Have a permanent work permit in the UK.
