Materials Management Operative (Operations I–II)

Hoddesdon

We are seeking a Materials Management Operative to join our Process Chemistry team in Hoddesdon. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of GMP materials, consumables, equipment, and waste across the site. Your work will directly support GMP manufacturing operations, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Materials & Inventory Management

4. Receive deliveries in line with GMP procedures, including hazardous, temperature-sensitive, and GMP materials.
5. Store all materials according to their defined storage requirements.
6. Fulfil routine and ad-hoc requests for materials, equipment, and consumables.
7. Carry out stock checks and maintain accurate inventory system records.
8. Sample and dispense materials as per procedures.
9. Deliver items to end users or designated storage areas.
10. Communicate effectively with internal customers to ensure requirements are met.
11. Support warehouse operations including goods-in, loading/unloading vehicles, and dispatch.
12. Complete administrative tasks including data entry, certificate sourcing, filing, and archiving.

Waste Management

13. Collect and process hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely and compliantly.
14. List, label, and pack waste in accordance with site and regulatory procedures.

Housekeeping & GMP Support

15. Clean manufacturing areas and equipment in line with GMP and Pharmaron standards.
16. Support continuous improvement of work areas and productivity.
17. Operate plant/equipment safely and report issues promptly to management.

Experience

18. Experience working within a GMP or regulated environment.
19. Chemical safety and handling.
20. Cleaning/handling sensitive or fragile materials.
21. Hazardous waste disposal.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential:

22. Strong awareness of safety procedures.
23. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical working style.
24. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
25. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
26. Good stakeholder relationship management.
27. Ability to collaborate across teams.
28. Proficiency with MS Office.
