Job Title: Product Developer - Knitwear
Client: Luxury Fashion Brand
Location: Central London (Fully onsite)
Contract Length: ASAP to 31/07/2026
Hours: 37.5/week
Overview
Responsible for managing the end-to-end Knitwear & Jersey product development process within a designated category, ensuring design vision is translated into high-quality, commercially viable products. This role partners closely with Design, Product Engineering, and vendors, acting as a key technical specialist throughout development.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage product development from concept to pre-production, ensuring critical path deadlines are met
* Collaborate with Design to translate creative vision into technically feasible products
* Attend fittings, provide technical input, and resolve development challenges
* Build and manage strong vendor relationships, including cost negotiation and capability alignment
* Deliver prototypes and samples on time, within quality and cost targets
* Identify risks and implement solutions throughout the development process
* Ensure products meet functionality, quality, and compliance standards
* Maintain accurate PLM data and track all development stages
* Support and guide junior team members
Skills & Experience
* Strong technical product knowledge (e.g. garments, knitwear, leather goods, or accessories)
* Proven experience in product development and critical path management
* Experience working with vendors and understanding manufacturing processes
* Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Good understanding of the luxury fashion market and trends
* Proficiency in PLM, Excel, and InDesign
