The school is now seeking a skilled Behaviour Mentor to support pupils across Nursery, Reception, and Key Stage 1.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work with children who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development. Pupils may present with SEMH needs, ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or trauma-related behaviours.
You will support children both in the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them to develop coping strategies, confidence, and positive behaviour patterns.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver 1:1 mentoring for pupils with behavioural needs
* Run small group interventions focused on emotional literacy
* Support children during classroom learning and play-based activities
* Assist with transitions, routines, and unstructured times
* Implement behaviour support strategies consistently
* Collaborate with teachers, EYFS staff, and SENCO
* Monitor and document progress and behaviour patterns
* Support children in developing self-regulation skills
* Engage positively with parents and carers
* Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards
The Ideal Candidate
You will be patient, empathetic, and passionate about working with young children. The school is seeking someone who understands that challenging behaviour often reflects unmet needs.
You should have:
* Experience in a Nursery, Primary, or EYFS environment
* Knowledge of SEND, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice
* A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Emotional resilience and adaptability
Relevant experience in childcare, education, psychology, or youth work is highly valued.
