We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in a part time role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, pastry) and ensuring that high-quality dishes are prepared in a timely manner. As a Chef de Partie, you will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.

The role will involve 3 shifts per week, Friday, Saturday & Sunday approx 12 noon to 8pm & occasional addition hours for holiday cover.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Prepare and cook food** according to the restaurant's recipes and standards, focusing on your assigned kitchen section (e.g., meats, fish, sauces, desserts).

* **Assist in menu development** by providing input and ideas for new dishes or improvements.

* **Ensure portion control and consistency** in food quality and presentation.

* **Maintain cleanliness and organisation** of your workstation and the kitchen area according to health and safety regulations.

* **Supervise and train junior kitchen staff**, such as Commis Chefs, in your section to ensure efficient workflow.

* **Monitor inventory levels** of ingredients and report shortages or issues to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.

* **Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards**, ensuring all dishes are prepared in a safe, sanitary environment.

* **Work closely with the kitchen team** to ensure smooth operations during service and efficient cooperation between sections.

* **Assist with stock rotation** and storage of ingredients to minimize waste.

* **Participate in daily briefings** and contribute to a positive kitchen culture.

**Requirements:**

* Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.

* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and best practices.

* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Salary commensurate with experience plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £14.50 per hour
