Are you a hands-on, practical person who prioritises safety and security? Do you want to make a visible impact on the daily operations of our school?
The Role
Watling Academy is seeking a proactive and dedicated Caretaker to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our school, maintaining the safety, security and overall upkeep of the building and grounds. We are committed to providing a welcoming and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; as our Caretaker, you will be instrumental in helping us achieve that goal.
Responsibilities include routine maintenance, repairs and cleaning duties, such as painting, fixing equipment and maintaining the school grounds to reduce hazards. You’ll also assist in setting up for events, managing daily operational tasks and providing security by opening and locking the premises. Health and safety are central to this role and you will work with the Site & Caretaking Coordinator and Estates & Health and Safety Manager to carry out safety checks, oversee fire alarm testing and ensure compliance with regulations.
