Overview
EY is seeking a Consultant to join our Credit Risk team. The role can be based in London, Manchester or Edinburgh. EY’s Credit Risk practice works with financial services risk practitioners, IT Advisory and Financial Accounting teams to support clients’ complex requirements with a range of modelling and technical skills including traditional modelling and newer tech-enabled approaches.
Our team helps leading banks optimise decision-making on IFRS 9, Stress Testing, IRB and Basel, Model Risk Management, capital management, credit automation and related areas, applying skills across quantitative modelling and technology.

As a part of our Credit Risk team you will work on leading-edge, business-critical solutions, engaging with clients at all levels to solve important challenges. You will learn from experienced colleagues and develop your skills in both credit risk and consulting, with dedicated career support throughout your EY journey. Location flexibility is available with base offices in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Your Responsibilities
* Participate in Credit Risk engagements
* Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress
* Assist in preparing reports and schedules delivered to clients and other parties
* Develop client relationships while building strong internal connections within the advisory practice and across other services
* Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
Skills and Attributes for Success
We are looking for confident communicators with strong technical problem-solving skills. You should be a credible communicator with some credit risk experience and commercial understanding. You should be comfortable working as a team member with a desire to share responsibility and support colleagues while maintaining ongoing progress communication.
Qualifications
* Experience in Financial Services, either in an institution, in advisory or business consulting to such organisations, or in regulation of such institutions
* Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject (Computational Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or Physics preferred) or equivalent
* Knowledge of Credit Risk & Financial Services Regulation – such as IRB, stress testing or IFRS 9 (preferred)
* Experience in software development environments such as Python, SAS, SQL, R, VBA
* UK project experience
* Ambition to build a career in a well-established organisation
* Soft skills including teamwork, collaboration, inclusiveness, flexibility, proactiveness and motivation
