Post Title: ICT Technical Design Lead (Infrastructure & Security) Flexible/Hybrid - Highland area Permanent As the ICT Technical Design Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the council s ICT infrastructure, ensuring it fully supports the delivery of our ICT Strategy and wider business objectives. You will have ownership of the end-to-end infrastructure design, providing expert leadership to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, scalable and aligned with industry best practice. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and governing the council s ICT infrastructure design, offering strategic and technical advice to ensure it delivers measurable business value. Working closely with the ICT Technical Operations Manager and ICT Strategy Programme Manager, you will help define future technical direction and guide the organisation through the successful implementation of new and evolving technologies. A key part of the role is collaboration: you will support ICT Managers across Technical Operations to maintain a coherent and integrated infrastructure estate, and to evolve it in line with the council s ICT Strategy Programme. You will act as a trusted technical authority, balancing long-term design principles with operational realities. The post includes line management responsibility for the existing ICT Security Team, as well as deputising for the ICT Technical Operations Manager when required. You will also lead the creation of a new ICT Design & Security Team, expanding the current security function to provide a clear focus on infrastructure design governance and security assurance across Technical Operations. The ICT Technical Operations function comprises DC Cloud Operations, End User Computing, Networks & Telephony, and ICT Design & Security, and is led by the ICT Technical Operations Manager.
