Freelance Midweight Technical Support / Project Designer (Outside IR35)
A fast-paced London design studio is seeking a Freelance Midweight Technical Support / Project Designer to assist in the delivery of large-scale hospitality and commercial projects. This role is ideal for a technically focused designer with strong drawing and documentation skills, capable of supporting projects through all stages of design development and implementation.
Working closely with the wider design team, the successful candidate will support the production of technical drawing packages, elevations, layouts, and project documentation within a collaborative and detail-driven studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and delivery of hospitality and commercial interior projects from concept through to completion
* Produce detailed drawing packages, layouts, and elevations using Vectorworks
* Assist in preparing comprehensive technical packs for contractor and supplier coordination
* Support the coordination of project information, drawing revisions, and documentation
* Collaborate with designers, contractors, suppliers, and consultants throughout project stages
* Assist with site coordination and installation support where required
* Travel to project sites when necessary to support project delivery
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience working on hospitality or commercial interior projects
* Strong proficiency in Vectorworks
* Experience producing technical drawing packs and construction documentation
* Good understanding of materials, finishes, and joinery detailing
* Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced and collaborative studio environment
* Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable
* Experience supporting large-scale hospitality projects
* FF&E documentation or scheduling experience
* Familiarity with contractor coordination and on-site implementation processes
