Description Job summary As an AutoCAD technician for the Port of Dover you are responsible for the daily management of all internal drafting services including creating and maintaining the ports baseplan data, the administration, quality checking and production of AutoCAD drawings in relation to major/minor capital and maintenance activities, and the management of the ports Service Clearance procedures. The successful candidate will also assist in the effective daily operation of other Asset Management department functions as required. The post will suit someone who is proactive, dynamic, approachable, a team player, with good interpersonal skills. Someone that is keen to get involved in continuous improvement and other supporting department activities. The Port of Dover’s drawing team have oversight of over 24,000 operational assets. The role is customer facing with a strong emphasis on client side drawing office functions. You will be expected to work closely with stakeholders from across the business delivering a high quality service, within defined SLAs covering a range of engineering disciplines. Skills and Qualifications Minimum of 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above to include English, Mathematics and a technical/science related subject Formal qualification to HNC level or experience working within a construction related discipline e.g Civils, Architectural, M&E or Structural Proven AutoCAD experience in a construction related environment Drafting experience with a specialisation in specific construction related discipline e.g. Civils, Architectural, M&E, or Structural. A working understanding of the features of a drawing management database.
