We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse with an interest in lung diagnostics to join our nurse practitioner team. In this role, the Lung Diagnostic Practitioner (NP) will be part of a multidisciplinary team who specialise in the evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients with suspected or confirmed pulmonary conditions including lung nodules. The NP will serve as a key provider in co-ordinating and delivering a high -quality, patient centred diagnostic care within an agreed scope of practice.
The post holder will ensure that patients presenting with suspected pulmonary conditions have access to rapid appropriate diagnostic investigations; are discussed in MDT and receive information rapidly using advanced communication skills to support patients, families and carers through potentially emotionally charged situations.
The post holder will be expected to monitor the impact of lung diagnostic service, using a number of key metrics. This will be of a demonstrably high standard; and will influence patient care through expert clinical practice, management, leadership, education research, audit and professional activities.
Main duties of the job
1. To work as an enhanced autonomous clinical practitioner providing nursing assessments, care and interventions to facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
2. To be aware of their own limitations and recognise the parameters of scope of practice of themselves and other’s.
3. To promote a culture that delivers patient centred care at every episode, contributing to positive patient experience and the delivery of local and national targets and initiatives
4. To act as a professional role model, providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching, research and leadership. They require knowledge, skills and behaviours across all four pillars of advancing practice.

5. NMC registration and a degree in related subject.

7. Recognised physical assessment module at level 7
8. Recognised teaching qualification or demonstratable experience
