Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £28-£35k DOE + overtime
Hours: 9am-5pm Mon-Fri - some WFH once probation is passed

We are working with our client, a well-established accountancy practice. Due to growth, they are now looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their small, friendly team.
They offer a tailored range of services to clients in various industries, including retail, hospitality, engineering, manufacturing, trades, and construction. Their proactive approach ensures clients are up-to-date with changing regulations and legislation, and they help clients achieve their business goals while being more tax efficient.
Ideally, your experience will be from within practice, but they will consider someone with good all-round industry experience. This isn't the right role for someone with only purchase or sales ledger experience.
The culture of the business is trust-based, where micromanagement is minimal. They need someone who can use their initiative and think independently. You will manage your workload but also work as part of a team, helping others when needed. They are a fun, friendly team who enjoy a laugh but work hard when required. Experience working to timed hourly deadlines is preferred.
The ideal Assistant Accountant will:
* Have experience in Accounts Preparation and Bookkeeping
* Possess knowledge of VAT and Taxation Advice
* Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Exhibit excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Be able to work independently and as part of a team
* Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Sage Line 50, QuickBooks, Sage Payroll
* Be organized and self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks
* Pay attention to detail
* Work towards strict deadlines and manage workloads accordingly
* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Prior experience within a practice environment is preferred; software-specific training may be provided.

Role Description
You will work within a team of accountants and tax professionals, providing excellent customer service to a growing portfolio of clients. Your duties will include:
* Accounts Preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Production of quarterly management accounts
* Bookkeeping, VAT Returns, and MTD
* Assisting clients with cloud accounting
* Supporting ad-hoc projects and assisting the Manager
