General Assistant – Education & Healthcare Settings (DBS Required)

Pay Rate: From £12.71 – £14.71 per hour (dependent on experience and client placement)

About the Role
Berkeley Scott, one of the UK’s leading hospitality recruitment agencies, is seeking reliable and hardworking General Assistants to support a variety of clients across the Education and Healthcare sectors in Tonbridge.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting with basic food preparation and service
2. Supporting kitchen and catering teams with daily operations
3. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
4. Washing up and ensuring kitchen and service areas are clean and organised
5. Setting up and clearing dining/service areas
6. Assisting with stock rotation and basic storage tasks
7. Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations
8. Working efficiently during busy service periods
Working Hours
9. Monday to Friday (weekends typically off)
10. Shifts available between:
11. Start times: 7am – 9:00am
12. Finish times: 2:00pm – 4:30pm
Requirements
13. Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Workforce) – essential
14. Right to work in the UK
15. Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or cleaning role preferred
16. Level 1 or 2 Food Safety Certificate (desirable)
17. Experience in schools, care homes, or contract catering advantageous
18. Strong reliability, organisation, and timekeeping
19. Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
