Do you believe every young person deserves a chance, and someone who won’t give up on them? Are you the type of person who sees potential where others see problems?
If yes, then you will be glad to learn that Teaching Personnel are hiring for a Behaviour Support Mentor on behalf of a partner school in Blackpool.
We're looking for someone who can be a positive presence in the life of pupils who find classroom life a challenge.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone who can be a steady, positive presence for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll work closely with pupils—either one-to-one or in small groups—to help build trust, emotional resilience, and encourage positive behaviour.
You’ll support the class teacher and behaviour lead in delivering tailored strategies, using de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches to help pupils stay regulated and engaged.
Many of the children you’ll work with may have experienced trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), or disrupted schooling. Your role will be to help them feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Is This You?
* You’ve worked with children who show challenging behaviour—whether in schools, youth work, or care settings.
* You stay calm under pressure and know how to set clear, consistent boundaries.
* You’re great at building relationships and know how to earn trust.
* You genuinely want to help children grow in confidence and reach their potential.
* You’re open to learning new strategies and approaches—Team Teach or similar training is a bonus, but not essential (we’ll provide full training).
What We Offer
* Weekly pay through PAYE—no umbrella companies.
* Ongoing training in behaviour management, safeguarding, and more.
* Dedicated support from our friendly Lancashire Primary team.
* A chance to make a lasting impact in a nurturing school environment.
