Overview
We are recruiting for a part-time Senior Occupational Therapist at Marlborough House in Milton Keynes, a 28-bedded male medium secure forensic unit. The service includes two wards (an acute assessment ward and a rehabilitation-focused ward) with a spectrum of interventions including sensory assessments, vocational opportunities, and links with the Recovery College. This role can be offered as part time (minimum 22.5 hours per week) with flexibility to up to 37.5 hours per week.
You will provide evidence-based, client-centred interventions, manage a varied caseload, and lead junior staff. You will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development and supporting recovery-focused care. Excellent CPD opportunities, supervision, and a supportive environment are available.
Responsibilities
* Manage a varied and at times complex caseload.
* Provide evidence-based occupational therapy that follows client-centred principles, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating outcomes, and documenting all stages.
* Provide leadership for junior/non-registered staff through supervision and appraisal, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
* Participate in planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service within a designated area/team, leading defined projects or specialist interventions.
* Participate effectively as a full member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Contribute to the maintenance and development of the trust-wide Occupational Therapy service and local multidisciplinary team.
* Actively participate in the education of occupational therapy students.
* Engage in teaching/presentations of specialist skills within the Trust and for continuing professional development events/activities.
Qualifications & requirements
* HCPC registration; if based outside the UK, HCPC registration is required to be considered.
* Ability to work part-time (minimum 22.5 hours per week) with flexibility up to 37.5 hours per week.
* Experience in evidence-based, client-centred occupational therapy and leadership of junior staff.
* Willingness to contribute to education and development of the service and students.
