Job Description
The Senior Solutions Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving the successful implementation of advanced battery recycling systems, beginning with the integration of battery sorting technologies from both internal teams and external partners to deliver robust, future ready solutions for clients.
This role provides strategic guidance to local management, shaping decisions on product development, solution design, trial planning, performance reporting, and potential collaborations with third‑party hardware and software providers. By capturing and translating customer operational requirements into well designed, safe, and functional proposals, the Senior Solutions Consultant helps ensure that new products and capabilities are not only fit for purpose but also positioned to deliver meaningful operational benefits.
This role can be based in either UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy Sweden or Denmark.
Given how niche this area is, successful candidates will come from manufacturers of capital equipment, typically for smart sorting and or bottom ash valorisation.
Responsibilities
:
* Support bids on complex strategic deals and provide input to the technical compliance matrix for tender responses
* Coordinate across sales, service and technology to deliver on complex solutions
* Implement a solutions strategy for battery recycling systems including those from technology partners
* Working closely with third party providers of software and hardware to develop a complete solution that complements the Smiths Detection product range and expands the market share of Smiths Detection.
* Ensure deployment of recycling solutions that meet regulatory, operational and business requirements
* Take ownership of operational requirement definition, ensuring the recycling solution is correctly specified, compliant and approved for ordering.
* Act as the technical liaison with 3rd party providers, overseeing compliance with quality requirements.
* Product development team and review board member – approval of customisation and innovation projects, QA of proposed customer solutions including hardware and software, support to POCs, trials and strategic initiatives with customers
* Ensure suppliers and partners establish & maintain quality related processes and deliverables.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, and management or equivalent experience.
* Significant experience in solution design and integration for complex capital equipment, ideally smart sorting and or bottom ash valorisation.
* Led or been active participant in projects encompassing Cross Functional teams. Project Management experience preferred.
* Broad experience and understanding of detection technologies and their application.
* Experience in working with Sales organizations and or Sales experience
* Knowledge of security operations, relevant regulations
and legislation and H&S guidance.
- Experience in dealing directly with customers.
- Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to interact and drive results in cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and influence people outside of direct reporting relationships.
- Flexibility to travel internationally when needed.
