Job Title: Business Development Manager – Foodservice Channel
Location: South West / Midlands (with weekly office attendance in Andover)
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing commercial team. Focused on the foodservices channel, this role is ideal for a commercially minded individual with a strong track record of building customer relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering sustainable growth in a competitive market.
You will play a key role in developing new business within the foodservice sector, while nurturing existing accounts across contract catering, hospitality, wholesalers, and distributors. Reporting into the Sales Controller, you’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and finance to deliver strategic plans that drive category performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to grow sales within the UK foodservice channel.
* Identify, target, and secure new customer opportunities across relevant sub-channels (e.g., contract caterers, hotels, QSRs, wholesalers).
* Build and manage strong relationships with key buying contacts and stakeholders.
* Manage a portfolio of existing accounts, driving incremental value through NPD, promotions, and tailored support.
* Monitor market trends, customer activity, and competitor movements to inform strategic decisions.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers and seamless supply chain execution.
* Produce accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM systems to track pipeline progress and performance metrics.
* Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings when required.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience in a business development or commercial role within the foodservice or FMCG sector.
* Strong understanding of UK foodservice operators, distribution networks, and procurement cycles.
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a remote-based role.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
* Familiarity with branded and/or licensed products is a plus.
Location & Flexibility:
This is a remote-first role, with the expectation of attending the Andover office once a week for team collaboration and business alignment. The role is national based and there will be travel expected.
