The Adult Forensic Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is offering an opportunity for Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists to contribute to improving patient experiences and developing a new model of care.
While the new model of care is under development and medical job planning is being reviewed, post holders are expected to serve as Responsible Clinician for 12–16 male inpatients or 10–12 female inpatients, managing their caseload from admission to discharge.

This is an exciting time to join us as a Consultant (Forensic) Psychiatrist. The role could be full-time within our women’s blended secure service (WBS) or our male medium secure service. Both roles offer the opportunity to shape the future of secure services for women and men in Greater Manchester.
You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team, including a medical secretary, junior doctors, clinical psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and nursing colleagues. To support service users’ physical health, there is a visiting GP, dentist, and a well-established physical health team.
Additional clinical activities include on-call work, access assessments, and other activities negotiated with colleagues and aligned with the new care model.
