MFL Teacher (French) – Secondary School in Stockport – September 2025 Start

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a large, inclusive secondary school in the heart of Stockport to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic French teacher to join their Modern Foreign Languages department from September 2025. This is a full-time teaching position covering KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of additional responsibilities for suitable candidates.
About the Role:
The appointed teacher will:
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging French lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach French to students in Years 7–11, tailoring delivery to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL pupils.
* Contribute to curriculum development and department planning.
* Prepare students for GCSE French exams with clear, structured schemes of work.
* Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress regularly.
* Promote a positive attitude towards language learning and intercultural understanding.
* Attend department meetings, parents' evenings, and whole-school CPD as required.

Candidate Requirements:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or relevant overseas teaching qualification.
* Degree in French or a closely related subject.
* Recent experience teaching French at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE).
* Strong subject knowledge and an ability to inspire enthusiasm in young people.
* Effective classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive education.
* A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to contribute to extra-curricular and enrichment activities.
