Overview
Mobile Service Technician role based from the Glasgow site, carrying out hydraulic, industrial and composite hose assemblies in locations across the central-belt area in line with the Company’s HSEQ management system.
We are recruiting for a Mobile Service Technician to be based from our Glasgow site to carry out hydraulic, industrial and composite hose assembly in various locations (generally on client sites across the central-belt area) which satisfy our customer requirements and are in line with the Company’s HSEQ management system.
Responsibilities
* Operate efficiently in response to client call outs and carry out tasks per supervisor’s and customer instructions
* Prepare assemblies using a variety of hoses for industrial, offshore, hydraulic and pneumatic purposes
* Identify and select appropriate hose types for customer orders and ensure full range of Hydrasun products is understood
* Complete all required documentation accurately and submit on time
* Maintain mobile unit stock levels and complete daily documentation
* Participate in on-call rota and work additional hours as required to meet deadlines
* Provide support in other areas of the business when needed
* Ensure accurate timesheets and job sheets and that charges reflect man-hours, fittings and materials
* Contribute to a culture of cost efficiency and savings
Essential Experience, Competencies And Qualifications
* Valid UK Driving Licence
* Understanding and practical experience of hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Good organisational skills
* Flexible and adaptable
* Problem-solving ability
* Customer and quality focus
* Numeric skills
* Ability to work well within a team
* Strong HSE awareness
* Ability to use and maintain equipment to a high standard
Desirable Experience, Competencies And Qualifications
* Standard Grade / National 5 (or equivalent) in a technical subject
* BFPA qualification level 2 (or equivalent)
* Forklift certificate
* Previous experience with hydraulic systems in a mobile capacity
* Previous experience of hose inspection and pressure testing
* Previous experience of plant fitting
Duties include but are not limited to
* Operationally: Ensure an efficient response to all client call outs
* Ensure that all tasks carried out are per supervisor’s & customer written and verbal instructions
* Be fully aware of component compatibility and be competent in the use of Hydrasun products
* Prepare assemblies using hoses for industrial, offshore and hydraulic/pneumatic purposes
* Identify and use all types of hoses for the customer order
* Be familiar with the full range of Hydrasun products
* Ensure all required documentation is completed correctly and submitted on time
* Maintain stock levels of mobile units and complete daily documentation
* Participate in on-call rota and work additional hours to meet deadlines
* Provide support and work in other areas of the business as required
* Ensure timesheets and job sheets are completed correctly and submitted on time
* Ensure customers are charged for correct man-hours, fittings and materials
