Role Overview\nWe are looking for an experienced and proactive Accounts Manager with a strong eye for detail. This opportunity is ideal for a qualified accountant who combines solid technical expertise with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. In this role, you will manage a diverse client portfolio, supervise the preparation of financial statements, and support junior team members while ensuring compliance standards and client expectations are consistently met.\nKey Responsibilities\n- Compile comprehensive Accounts files, including accounts preparation, corporation tax, and personal tax returns for directors, ready for Accounts Director review\n- Attend regular meetings with key clients to discuss and review their financial records\n- Review junior team members’ work, offer feedback and ensure all corrections are implemented before submission to the Accounts Director\n- Ensure client files and reports are fully prepared after Accounts Director review and ready for client debrief sessions\n- Submit Accounts and Tax Returns in line with internal compliance procedures and ensure timely file close-down\n- Mentor team members from apprentice level up to Accounts Seniors and assist with daily team management alongside the Accounts Director\n- Take initiative in addressing client issues and offer practical solutions and support to the wider team\n- Keep up to date with CPD (Continuing Professional Development) responsibilities\n- Manage client diaries and workflow to ensure timely, efficient, and budget-conscious delivery\n- Evaluate existing client fees and recommend revisions to the Accounts Director when fee recovery is insufficient\n- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining open communication and providing regular service updates\n- Gain familiarity with the full range of AMS Group services and identify cross-selling opportunities to existing clients\nRequirements\n- ACCA/ACA qualified (or equivalent)\n- Demonstrated experience working within UK accountancy practice\n- Strong working knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A, and FRS 105\n- Solid experience in managing consolidated accounts\n- Proven ability to nurture and maintain client relationships\n- Willingness and ability to mentor and support colleagues\n- Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset and accountability for outcomes\n- Effective communicator with team members and clients at all levels\nSalary & Benefits\n * Competitive salary, based on experience\n * 25 days annual leave, plus an extra day for your birthday\n * Discretionary annual performance bonus\n * Health cash plan after successful completion of probation\n * Perkbox subscription for lifestyle benefits and discounts\n * One paid membership or professional subscription\n * Cycle to work scheme\n * Company-paid sick leave\n * Option to purchase up to 5 extra days of annual leave\n * Enhanced parental leave policies\n * Access to Employee Assistance Programme\n * Participation in the company pension scheme
