Project Manager – Transportation Planning & Traffic Design On-site | Civil Engineering

The Role
The Project Manager will be a key member of the transportation group, leading planning studies, traffic analysis, and signal design projects. You’ll oversee project execution, mentor junior engineers, and liaise with clients and stakeholders. This position involves both technical delivery and project oversight, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control. With opportunities to support business development and play a visible role in public presentations, this role is well-suited for a licensed engineer with strong leadership skills and a passion for shaping transportation solutions.
Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of technical traffic studies, memorandums, and reports.
* Oversee the design of traffic signals, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
* Mentor and guide engineering staff across all project phases.
* Interact with team members to ensure effective and efficient project execution.
* Participate in client meetings and assist with public presentations.
* Support quality control processes across planning and design deliverables.
* Manage project tasks, schedules, budgets, contracts, and invoicing.
* Contribute to business development activities aligned with company growth.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
* Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; PTOE certification a plus.
* 7+ years of experience in transportation and/or traffic design.
* Familiarity with MUTCD and MassDOT design manuals and procedures.
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to manage assignments independently with attention to detail.
* Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is a plus.
