Role Overview
The Junior Mechanical Estimator will join a busy Mechanical department, contributing to the delivery of large-scale projects valued between £100,000 and £10 million. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their estimating career within a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical installations across a range of project sizes.
* Utilise pricing and quoting software to produce detailed costings.
* Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project briefs to determine material, labour, and cost requirements.
* Assess mechanical needs for residential, commercial, and industrial building plans.
* Review and negotiate supplier quotations to secure optimal pricing and compile comprehensive cost breakdowns.
* Maintain and update the internal cost database to improve the efficiency of future estimates.
* Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project scope and budget expectations.
Candidate Requirements
* Prior experience in Mechanical Building Services is essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
* Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
* High attention to detail and effective organisational skills.
