Our Civils & Drainage (C&D) business unit plays a critical role in supporting the UK’s infrastructure, from water management to power, utilities, highways, and energy. We supply engineered precast solutions that enable safer, more efficient, and more resilient infrastructure networks.
As a Key Account Manager you will be at the centre of our Civils & Drainage growth strategy. This is a senior, commercially focused role where you will lead and develop high‑value relationships with Tier 1 contractors, shaping long‑term trading agreements while driving the identification, specification and delivery of major utilities and infrastructure projects.
What’s the Mission?
You’ll operate at two levels: influencing senior procurement, commercial and design teams to secure sustainable partnerships, while also orchestrating complex, high‑value projects from early engagement through to fulfilment. Internally, you’ll align sales, engineering, production and planning to ensure we deliver profitable growth, technical excellence and outstanding customer experience.
Put simply: grow strategic Tier 1 accounts, convert major projects, and position our civils and drainage solutions as the preferred choice for safety, sustainability and performance.
Responsibilities
* Acting as the primary strategic contact for selected Tier 1 contractors
* Negotiating and managing profitable trading agreements
* Building and maintaining a structured national major project pipeline
* Driving pre‑tender engagement and specification opportunities
* Leading pricing and value engineering strategies on major utilities & infrastructure projects
* Coordinating delivery across the full project lifecycle
* Developing and executing a focused national business plan
* Providing accurate forecasting, reporting and market intelligence
* Supporting industry events, exhibitions and technical presentations
Mission‑Critical Skills & Experience
* Extensive and proven success in a senior sales role within the Civils or Infrastructure sector.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, drainage systems, and water management solutions
* Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, specifiers, and contractors.
* Existing relationships with key stakeholders in Tier 1 contractors and strategic merchant partners
* Experience of preparation and presentation of technically led value engineered commercial proposals
* A data driven approach, with a focus on achieving measurable results whilst delivering exceptional performance standards.
Desirable
* Industry Knowledge: In‑depth understanding of the construction and infrastructure industry, including relevant regulations, standards, and best practices
* A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
