Key Account Manager - Infrastructure & Major Projects

Competitive Salary, Company Car, Sales Bonus and Benefits
UK

Marshalls plc is the UK’s leading hard landscaping, building and roofing products supplier and has supplied some of the most prestigious landmarks in the UK since the 1890s. We’re the benchmark for excellence and have been recognised as a Superbrand since 2010. As well as exceptional customer service, technical innovation, and manufacturing expertise, we continue to be a leader in our field in corporate responsibility and sustainable business practice.

Our Civils & Drainage (C&D) business unit plays a critical role in supporting the UK’s infrastructure, from water management to power, utilities, highways, and energy. We supply engineered precast solutions that enable safer, more efficient, and more resilient infrastructure networks.

As a Key Account Manager you will be at the centre of our Civils & Drainage growth strategy. This is a senior, commercially focused role where you will lead and develop high‑value relationships with Tier 1 contractors, shaping long‑term trading agreements while driving the identification, specification and delivery of major utilities and infrastructure projects.

What’s the Mission?

You’ll operate at two levels: influencing senior procurement, commercial and design teams to secure sustainable partnerships, while also orchestrating complex, high‑value projects from early engagement through to fulfilment. Internally, you’ll align sales, engineering, production and planning to ensure we deliver profitable growth, technical excellence and outstanding customer experience.

Put simply: grow strategic Tier 1 accounts, convert major projects, and position our civils and drainage solutions as the preferred choice for safety, sustainability and performance.

Responsibilities

* Acting as the primary strategic contact for selected Tier 1 contractors
* Negotiating and managing profitable trading agreements
* Building and maintaining a structured national major project pipeline
* Driving pre‑tender engagement and specification opportunities
* Leading pricing and value engineering strategies on major utilities & infrastructure projects
* Coordinating delivery across the full project lifecycle
* Developing and executing a focused national business plan
* Providing accurate forecasting, reporting and market intelligence
* Supporting industry events, exhibitions and technical presentations

Mission‑Critical Skills & Experience

* Extensive and proven success in a senior sales role within the Civils or Infrastructure sector.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, drainage systems, and water management solutions
* Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, specifiers, and contractors.
* Existing relationships with key stakeholders in Tier 1 contractors and strategic merchant partners
* Experience of preparation and presentation of technically led value engineered commercial proposals
* A data driven approach, with a focus on achieving measurable results whilst delivering exceptional performance standards.

Desirable

* Industry Knowledge: In‑depth understanding of the construction and infrastructure industry, including relevant regulations, standards, and best practices
* A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

What’s in It for You?

This is a high‑impact, nationally visible role where you’ll shape long‑term Tier 1 partnerships and influence major infrastructure projects that matter. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, drive strategic growth across a critical product portfolio, and operate in a collaborative, technically strong environment where your commercial expertise and ability to deliver results are genuinely valued.

Equal Opportunities

Whoever you are and whatever your background, you’ll find a fair and supportive workplace. You’re unique and we want you to bring every part of who you are to work, every day.

We’re committed to ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. To us, this is more than a legal, moral, or ethical necessity – it’s the right thing to do! We want our team to reflect the diverse nature of society and the communities we serve.

Marshalls is a workplace where you’re valued for the contribution you make, and where you can grow and develop by being entirely yourself!

Apply now and help shape the next era of Civils & Drainage excellence.

Closing Date: 9am Thursday 12th March
