Care & Support Worker – Southern Housing
We are looking for a Care & Support Worker to join us here at Southern Housing on the Isle of Wight. The role is permanent full‑time and requires flexible cover of evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service.
Location
Ryde Village, Isle of Wight.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to residents and service users as outlined in their person‑centred care plans, including some intimate care.
* Deliver care that promotes independence, rights, choices and inclusion within the community.
* Summon professional assistance in case of an emergency.
* Adhere to Care Quality Commission standards, ensuring up‑to‑date care plans and risk assessments that reflect individual needs and wishes.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Hold five GCSE passes at grade 'C' or above (or equivalent Grade 9–5) including Maths & English.
* Ability to listen and communicate effectively, with good written communication and numeracy skills.
* Basic IT skills.
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle with business use insurance.
* Physically capable of undertaking moving and handling duties.
* Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
* Knowledge of personal boundaries and understanding of the requirements of the CQC.
