Job Title: Commercial Manager / Sales Manager

Atom Search are seeking a commercially driven and strategic leader to head up our clients Commercial Team consisting of 11 (4 BD Managers, 4 Account Managers, 1 Marketing Lead, 1 Inbound Sales Coordinator and 1 Data Analyst). This key role will manage day-to-day commercial operations, oversee marketing strategy execution, and identify opportunities to drive revenue and profitability across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Commercial Team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Deliver timely commercial and marketing updates to the Board and senior management.
* Identify and secure new commercial opportunities while strengthening existing client relationships.
* Set and manage performance targets for Account Managers and Business Development Managers.
* Oversee pricing strategies, bid submissions, tenders, and key account development.
* Collaborate closely with the COO to ensure commercial decisions align with budgets and operational capabilities.
* Direct marketing and digital strategies, ensuring consistent brand messaging.
* Manage complaints escalated from the Account Managers and ensure client satisfaction is maintained.
* Guide Data Analysts to uncover commercial insights and inform strategy.
* Monitor competitor activity and adapt strategies accordingly.
* Attend monthly board meetings and contribute to business planning.
Experience Required
* Proven experience managing commercial and sales teams.
* Strong background in marketing strategy and campaign oversight.
* Track record in lead generation, tendering, and negotiating commercial terms.
* Skilled in coaching, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
* Confident handling data analysis, reporting, and business case preparation.
* Knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
Desirable
* Digital marketing experience.
* Familiarity with the Healthcare, Construction or Rail industries.
* Experience growing key accounts in complex stakeholder environments.
