About the role:
We are recruiting for an Account Manager to join our growing and successful team. In this key role, you will contribute to the success of a thriving local business by ensuring that our customers remain at the heart of everything we do. As a vital member of the team, you will support our agents and play a central role in delivering exceptional service. You will be responsible for managing and developing client relationships, handling policy renewals and identifying opportunities to offer tailored insurance and financial solutions. Your day-to-day work will involve overseeing existing accounts, responding to commercial queries and ensuring all client interactions are handled with professionalism and care. You’ll also contribute to business growth through lead generation, cross-selling and supporting compliance and reporting processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, particularly during policy renewals.
• Identify and generate leads for general insurance, financial services and risk management solutions from new and existing customers.
• Manage day to day changes to commercial, personal and motor policies.
• Handle incoming queries from commercial clients with efficiency and professionalism.
• Cross-sell financial lines, cover enhancements and risk management services.
• Maintain accurate client record keeping and documentation for your role.
• Produce correspondence to required time frames and quality standards.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of NFU Mutual General Insurance products, as applicable to product licences.
• Work within the Compliance Framework required by NFU Mutual and Financial Conduct Authority.

• Proven experience in customer facing or account management role.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with a wide range of clients.
• Commercially minded with a focus on identifying opportunities and delivering tailored solutions.
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A team player who is adaptable, enthusiastic and committed to continuous learning and development.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, using your own initiative and judgement to make informed decisions.
• Flexible, adaptable and open to new ideas and ways of working.
• Demonstrate the core values as required by the Financial Conduct Authority.
• Strong IT skills and ideally experience using Microsoft CRM systems with an ability to adapt to new systems.
• A minimum of National 5 Grades including Maths and English (or equivalent).
