About The Team We Are Recruiting To

The Housing and Homelessness Service is a busy environment facing several challenges to meet the housing needs of Coventry citizens. The team has grown significantly in the last 12 months, reflecting that Housing & Homelessness is now a key council priority.
The team is responsible for:
* Provision of the statutory homeless service
* Provision of temporary accommodation
* Management of the housing register
* Coordination of support to citizens rough sleeping
* Commissioning of homeless services
* Responsibility for housing strategy
The Council's strategic vision is outlined in the Housing & Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategies, both approved in 2019.
Joining this expanding team offers a chance to prevent homelessness and provide tailored support and interventions for vulnerable city residents.
What is the job role?
We seek a motivated, enthusiastic individual with a good understanding of the challenges faced by homeless individuals or those in supported accommodation. This role will lead on ensuring quality and compliance in commissioned supported homeless accommodation and support operational efficiency, including research, best practices, and cross-partnership opportunities.
You will work with internal and external partners, including homeless service providers, the SEA team, and other council directorates.
This position is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.

* You will be a self-starter with good negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
* You understand the key issues around supported homeless accommodation and can identify trends and produce recommendations.
* You can work independently, flexibly, and at a fast pace.
* You can build effective working relationships.
* You are confident in analysing information and producing clear reports.
