Job Description Have you recently completed a welding or engineering qualification and are ready to turn your skills into a long-term career? We’re recruiting a Junior Welder to join a highly respected and technically advanced manufacturing business based in Wellingborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious early-career welder to learn from experienced specialists, gain exposure to advanced welding technologies, and develop into a highly skilled production welder. You’ll become part of a structured production welding team manufacturing high-precision instrumentation products to exacting quality standards. From day one, you’ll receive hands-on training and ongoing support, with exposure to both manual and robotic welding processes. This role is ideal for someone who wants more than “just a job” — it offers clear progression, specialist training (including robotic operator training), and the chance to build a long-term career in a clean, modern, and technically advanced production environment. What You’ll Be Doing Carry out TIG and MIG welding under the guidance of experienced team leaders Learn to set up and operate robotic welding cells (full training provided) Work with jigs, fixtures, and manipulators within a structured production line Support tacking, welding, and finishing activities to required quality standards Assist with pressure and leak testing processes Read and work from technical drawings and job instructions Maintain welding bays and equipment to high housekeeping standards Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production team What We’re Looking For Recently completed a recognised welding or engineering qualification (C&G, BTEC, HNC or similar) Practical TIG and MIG welding capability A genuine desire to learn, develop, and progress within manufacturing Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work Reliable, motivated, and committed to building a long-term career A team player with good communication skills Desirable (Not Essential) Experience welding stainless steel Workshop, placement, or manufacturing experience Exposure to production-based environments What’s in It for You 24 days annual leave (increasing with service) Paid birthday leave Option to sell unused annual leave Up to 5% employer pension contribution Life assurance (4x basic salary) Health cash plan Private medical insurance Paid professional subscriptions 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme Enhanced sick pay If you’re looking to take the next step in your welding career with a company that genuinely invests in its people and values technical excellence, we’d love to hear from you.
