Key Responsibilities
Deliver lessons that last – Use Compass to provide tailored sessions, facilitating learning through questioning, scaffolding, and stretching.
Build meaningful relationships – Work with a 16‑to‑1 ratio, creating a safe, inspiring environment where children can take risks and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Drive academic progress – Support members as they progress through the national curriculum, entrance exams, and GCSE preparation, celebrating milestones along the way.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Confident leading sessions with small groups (16), prioritizing children’s safety and wellbeing.
* Comfortable supporting children aged 4‑16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content.
* Committed to building meaningful, long‑term relationships that provide consistency and stability.
* Achieved grade 5 or above in Maths & English at GCSE level, or predicted grades expected within the next three months.
* Age 16 or over with the right to work in the UK.

Location & Contract
On‑site role based at the Newcastle centre. Contracted to work a minimum of six hours a week over two days. Shift start times are between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm on weekdays.
Pay Rates & Progression
Base hourly rate varies by age:
* Under 18 – £8.40
* 18‑20 – £10.90
* 21+ – £12.75
An additional 50p per hour is added for work at a centre inside the M25. Training and induction are paid.
