Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Non-Verbal Student) Location: Alexandra Park, Oldham Start Date: 17th November Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term placement Salary: Dependent on experience About the Role Pinnacle Trust are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at Alexandra Park, Oldham, supporting a non-verbal student on a 1:1 basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey, providing tailored support to meet individual learning and communication needs. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 classroom support for a non-verbal student with additional needs. Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning plans. Use alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC (training can be provided). Promote inclusion and a positive learning environment for all students. Requirements Previous experience supporting students with SEN, particularly non-verbal or communication needs. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
