Disability Facility Grant Officer
Salary: £18 - £25 / Hour

Save Share Apply now Our client in Vale of Glamorgan is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Disability Facilities Grant (DFG) Officer to join a well-structured and dynamic team. This opportunity offers both full-time and part-time contracts, flexible working (including home working), a manageable caseload, and ongoing training to support your professional development. This is an initial 3–6 month contract, with strong potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a caseload of Disability Facilities Grant applications from referral through to completion
2. Assess service users’ needs within their home environment in line with DFG legislation and guidance
3. Work closely with Occupational Therapists, surveyors, contractors, and other stakeholders
4. Provide advice on suitable adaptations to promote independence and accessibility
5. Oversee the approval process, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and budgets
6. Monitor progress of works, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
7. Ensure safeguarding principles are upheld, maintaining dignity and respect for all service users
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
8. Previous experience working in a DFG, housing adaptations, or housing grants role
9. Strong understanding of Disability Facilities Grant legislation and processes
10. Experience working with vulnerable individuals in a housing or social care setting
11. Excellent communication and organisational skills
12. Enhanced DBS (can be arranged)
13. Eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable
14. Experience working alongside Occupational Therapists or within local authority settings
15. Knowledge of housing standards, minor/major adaptations, and grant funding processes
