Job Purpose:
Job Purpose: The Senior Laboratory Support Associate (SSLA) at our life sciences client site in Oxford is a key role within our team. Reporting to the CBRE UK Cluster Lead, you will be a highly organised and dynamic individual and will work closely with the CBRE/Client team to provide critical support by supervising the laboratory operations and coordinating the company’s laboratory procedures to ensure smooth, seamless processes within the laboratories.
Duties:
* Coordinate the Laboratory Asset Management Programme (LAMP) – ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
* Work with vendors and third‑party subcontractors to schedule breakdowns and routine preventative maintenance for laboratory equipment.
* Raise purchase orders via the CMMS system and liaise with colleagues in Foster City to track and complete orders to resolution.
* Arrange onboarding of new vendors with the client’s finance team.
* Order stock via the client ordering system; manage stock through a monitored list.
* Receive and check deliveries; replenish stock in labs; wash laboratory glassware.
* Manage laboratory waste – collection, disposal, and replacement bins.
* Handle liquid waste in partnership with a third‑party vendor; keep the chemical waste inventory up to date.
* Utilise Chemwatch to check deliveries and quarantine items until COSHH assessments are complete.
* Assist with ad‑hoc projects that support growth and continual improvement of laboratory processes and efficiency.
