Overview of Role
The QA/ QC Engineer is responsible for carrying out inspections in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. They will oversee the quality and safety of the companies welding and fabrication activities, including dimensional inspection. They are responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking weld specifications and ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to.
Accountabilities
1. Ensure that the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan is written in-line with the project requirements and is being effectively implemented and shared with relevant managers.
2. Liaise with all sub-contractors and treatment works to carry out random inspections of these sites to ensure compliance to the required specifications as set out by contract and purchase orders.
3. Complete inspections to ensure material at goods inwards meet the required standards.
4. Ensure a good standard of workmanship is maintained throughout the contract.
5. Ensure reports from visits to suppliers and sub-contractors to in-house inspections are produced and recorded with contract documentation.
6. Management of subcontractors.
7. Review of all documentation, LTRs & final certification packages are in accordance with contract requirements
8. Review calibration and test equipment are in full compliance with company & contract requirements.
9. Ensure weld procedures comply with relevant code & contract requirements.
10. Analyse non-conformance reports
11. Final review of all fabrication and assembly documentation before submission to the client
12. Maintain the approved suppliers listing and requesting any documentation that may have expired.
13. Liaising with Suppliers, Subcontractors, clients etc and attend meetings where appropriate.
14. Issue of any Quality Documents required by client to Document Control for approval/review.
15. Liaise with sub-contractor and ensure all documentation runs concurrently with the project requirements.
16. Liaise with client representatives relating to QA/ QC operation
17. Collect and keep up to date SQEP Files for HPSL Personnel – issue to client if required by Contract/Client.
