* Controlling budgets and managing costs associated with the production of deliverables for commercial success.
* Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings and responding to queries.
* Contributing to bid preparation and the general work‑winning function.
* Driving effective health, safety and environmental practices within the team.
We want to hear from you if you have:
* Developed experience and expertise within the relevant technical field, typically gained in a Senior Engineer role or equivalent.
* Ability to produce technically sound solutions and supervise junior staff in the same domain.
* Experience managing health, safety and welfare tasks, such as Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
* Knowledge of design and specification processes with the ability to advise and review others’ work.
* Expertise with relevant engineering software and analytical tools, with a strong eye for quality.
* A deep understanding of CDM and risk assessment, able to manage and communicate hazards and ensure risk mitigation and transference.
* Capability to act as Principal Designer on suitable projects.
* Supervisory and people‑management skills to lead a medium‑sized, locally based technical team.
* Desirable incorporation or Chartered status, or equivalent professional licence, which may be essential on particular contracts.
We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates. If you possess most but not all of these skills and experiences, we encourage you to apply and we will provide development or training to support you.
