Major Job Functions
1. Perform mechanical and manual surface preparation including grinding, cleaning, masking and priming
2. Operate blasting equipment to remove rust, scale, old paint, and other contaminants.
3. Assess surface conditions prior to coating to ensure proper preparation standards
4. Mask and protect surrounding areas to prevent overspray and contamination.
5. Apply protective coatings using spray, brush, and roller techniques
6. Inspect painted products to ensure finish meets company quality standards
7. Carry out machine movements using the most appropriate tools/equipment, that could include slinging, forklift truck, cranage, etc.
8. Refuel machines as required.

22. Understanding of Industrial Paint processes, cleaning and application techniques

Accountability
25. Mix and handle paint and thinners safely and according to manufacturer’s data sheets (MSDS) Perform routine maintenance and care of spray painting equipment
26. Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly at the end of each day, reflecting our commitment to efficiency, safety, and reducing environmental impact through proper tool maintenance.
27. Preliminary assessment of machine condition reporting any damage or missing items through the appropriate channels.
28. Maintain and clean painting equipment and spray booths for optimal operation
29. Follow safety protocols rigorously, ensuring all work is compliant with health and safety policies, and report any concerns to maintain a safe working environment, in line with environmental regulations.
30. Follow risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH guidelines
Education and Experience
31. ICATS trained (desirable)
32. Counterbalance Forklift truck licence is an advantage
33. NPORS licence or equivalent (desirable)
34. Appointed persons certificate in the management of lifting operations (desirable)
