Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 23 academies; 13 secondary and 10 primaries across the North of England in eleven Local Authority regions.
The Trust operates an in-house catering service and The Ferns Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a Chef Manager to lead the Catering Team and provide healthy, varied meals for students, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will be able to lead, manage and develop the catering team and have a proven record and be able to demonstrate excellent catering and customer service skills.
To manage all catering operations within the academy. Preparing & cooking breakfast, break and lunch and supporting academy functions as required.
Ensure that the quality and presentation of meals meet the standards set by the Trust.
Ensure internal Academy and statutory regulations pertaining to the safe and hygienic operation of the kitchen are adhered to by all members of staff and visitors.
Monitoring and controlling stock levels, ensuring correct stock rotation and storage procedures are followed.
Manage the catering team, leading by example.
Providing training to the team to allow safe and efficient work. Ensuring the department delivers the required level of service at all times.
